The Sound of Youth
The choir was formed in 2014 and has quickly gained a great reputation within rhythmic choral music. Syng Selected meets 4-5 times a year to practice and prepare for concerts. We spend an entire weekend together, with a packed schedule of practicing new and old repertoire, exploring the singers' vocal technique, performance and artistic work with the songs, and last but not least, time to cultivate our community.
The choir stays on one of the country's beautiful folk high schools or boarding schools during the weekends, and the weekend often ends with a concert at the respective school as a thank you for their hospitality. Additionally, we would love talking to the students about singing in a choir and all the cool things that come with it.
It is part of our vision to promote choral singing among the youth.
Do you know a boarding school or a folk high school who could be interested in housing Syng Selected for a weekend, and in return getting a weekend filled with energy, music, and finally a concert with one of the best rhythmic youth choirs in Denmark. Do you know a venue, a church, a company party, a festival, or something else that could use a concert with one of the country's best rhythmic youth a cappella choirs? Then contact us via our contact form!

FAQ

Do you think that musical community, elite-level choir, and trips abroad and within Denmark sound like something for you? Then become part of the award-winning choir Syng Selected! The choir meets 4-5 times a year for rehearsal weekends all around Denmark, where we stay at folk high schools and boarding schools that lend us their facilities. Singers are often sent sheet music and rehearsal files before the weekends, so we can focus on expression and refinement when we meet.
We are all engaged in the choir administratively through various committees that handle specific areas of the choir's operations – this can be anything from social events to booking. Therefore, it is important that you are also interested in engaging in this aspect of the choir.
An audition takes place by sending an email to the mail address provided at the time, stating your full name and which voice part you would like to join. We will then get back to you via email with sheet music and instructions on what we would like to hear from you. Your audition will consist of an email with a brief text about yourself and a few videos where you showcase your singing and choir abilities.
We look forward to hearing from you! Sign up for our mailing list and get notified directly the next time we are looking for new singers:

Syng is a youth faction of the parent organization Kor72 with its own statutes and board. The declared purpose of the association is to promote the understanding and value of choir singing and to raise awareness of choir singing among the youth. The organization's goal is to represent the cultural and musical interests of Danish youth choirs with young singers between the ages of 10 and 30. Additionally, Syng aims to promote democratic development through organizational support for Danish youth choirs.
The association Syng is the initiator of the elite choir Syng Selected. The idea behind Syng Selected emerged with a vision of having a flagship to showcase what choir singing does for young people and how it strengthens social skills, unity, and provides quality of life.
The association Syng seeks support to maintain the operation of the elite choir Syng Selected.
Syng Selected is an elite choir that aims to cater to talented young choir singers across the country. Syng Selected seeks to develop the top talents in rhythmic choir singing, providing a platform where singers can grow to their fullest potential. This results in a rhythmic choir of an internationally high standard, and in this way, Syng Selected becomes a platform where one can develop their talent while being part of the larger community formed among like-minded individuals. With the Syng Selected initiative, young talents get the opportunity to work with some of the country's leading choir conductors in rhythmic choir music, as well as other young choir singers at the same high technical level.
Syng Selected has rotating conductors, often on a two-year cycle, to ensure the choir's continuous development.
In addition to being an elite choir, Syng Selected is also a place where young singers can gain experience with PR, fundraising, and association work in general, as a board has been established consisting of singers from the choir and representatives from the Syng association. This gives the singers a greater sense of ownership while recognizing the realities, challenges, and opportunities of running a cultural association. These are skills that members can use, reuse, and further develop in their own choirs and associations.
Syng Selected holds choir weekends at different locations across the country, creating greater opportunities to include national talents on a nationwide scale. This helps ensure that Syng Selected serves as ambassadors for the development of choir music and talent cultivation nationally.
For each rehearsal weekend, a concert is often held at the location to showcase, on a national level, what can be achieved with rhythmic choir music.
